Our Story

Four Sisters began with four sisters from the same family. Each sister has her own unique personality, yet they all share the same love for the Vietnamese kitchen, where the flavours of childhood and the warmth of family meals are preserved.

Four Sisters was established with the desire to bring the flavours of Vietnam to friends in our second homeland, Australia. Every dish is not only a combination of fresh ingredients and traditional seasonings, but also a story of homeland, family, and Vietnamese identity.

We believe that food is a language without borders. Through every steaming bowl of phở, every fresh rice paper roll, every plate of bún chả infused with the aroma of charcoal grilling, and every dish rich with the flavours of home, Four Sisters hopes to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese culture to every guest.

That is why Four Sisters is more than just the name of a restaurant. It is a symbol of family, tradition, and pride in Vietnamese culture. The logo was born from this same story, inspired by the image of four sisters from the same family, representing unity and love.

The circle in the logo symbolises reunion, togetherness, and the journey of bringing people together through dishes prepared with sincerity, allowing one heart to touch another. The soft handwritten lettering reflects the grace and skill of Vietnamese women, who have preserved and passed down the essence of Vietnamese cuisine from one generation to the next.

The brown background of the logo evokes Mother Earth, the source that nurtures the rice, vegetables, herbs, spices, and all the ingredients that form the foundation of Vietnamese cuisine. Brown also brings to mind wood, bamboo, and traditional kitchens, where generations of Vietnamese families gather around the family dining table. At the same time, it is a colour that conveys warmth, closeness, and familiarity, perfectly reflecting the spirit that Four Sisters wishes to share.

In Vietnamese culinary culture, brown is also the colour of many distinctive flavours, including traditional fish sauce, caramel sauce (nước màu), earthenware clay pots, Vietnamese coffee, cinnamon, star anise, and dishes that are slowly cooked to develop deep, rich flavours. These images evoke richness, refinement, and a strong sense of cultural identity. For Four Sisters, the brown background also symbolises the strong foundation of family, where the four sisters share their love for Vietnamese cuisine while preserving recipes that have been passed down through many generations.
